The two buildings each possess a unique character and look, yet their forms complement each other well. The metal pieces that ornament the facade of the studio office each have a tactile quality of their own. Note also the composition of the elements and the pronounced retaining wall that both shelters and expresses the entrance.
The Burns residence actually consists of two adjoining structures. One is a multi-story house with attached garage, the other building is comprised of a design studio, one-bedroom apartment and storage loft.
