Burns Residence
Billings, Montana

Built into the “Rimrocks” of Billings, Montana, this home was designed to fit into existing rock formations indigenous to the area.  A natural water way split the site directly a design solution that integrated a bridge/studio over this water amenity.  The massing of the design was created by taking two simple box shaped footprints and placing them among the gigantic sandstone.  The angle of the bridge was then random allowing a “loose hinged” approach to the bridge.
