COLLABORATIVE DESIGN ARCHITECTS INC.

  • San Leandro Community Library Center; San Leandro, California
Completed in 2000, CDA Inc. designed the renovation and expansion of the Community Library Center for the City of San Leandro.  This project began with a detailed pre-schematic design study which included an analysis of seismic, life safety, electrical, mechanical, landscape and communications issues, as well as a detailed programmatic needs assessment for the building. Through careful analysis of the City's requirements and site constraints, we are currently defining the precise scope of work for the remaining portions of the project.  This project represents a careful balance of expansion, remodeling, and integration of electronic data systems, which we feel will produce the most efficient building for our client.  All systems have been designed for future technological upgrades, should requirements change.  In addition, handicapped accessibility, an energy-efficient design, efficiency-boosting work areas and adequate storage capabilities are all being integrated into the project. Estimated cost of construction $13,500,000.00.
  • City of Santa Clara, Franklin Mall Downtown Revitalization
CDA Inc. worked with and generated the design concept and construction documents for the planning and construction of the Franklin Square Project. Emphasis on streetscape design. Estimated cost of construction $3,000,000.
  • San Carlos City Hall Interior Improvements, San Carlos, California
CDA Inc. was retained by the City of San Carlos to create a master plan for City Hall, which was to improve the City’s ability to serve its constituents.  The primary phase of the project included an exhaustive analysis of the building’s seismic, life safety and accessibility code compliance status. The second component in CDA Inc.’s evaluation of the building culminated in a Programming Document and Master Plan.  After the preparation of these two assessments, CDA Inc. designed modifications to portions of the building which will modernize the building and takes the City closer to its goal of improved customer service through a reorganization of the offices of several departments and the creation of a one-stop development services permitting center and an informational kiosk.
    Cost of construction $725,000.00
  • Veterans War Memorial Building, San Leandro, California
The City of San Leandro retained CDA Inc. to prepare a full assessment to the Veterans Memorial Building, a beautiful 22,000 square foot building dating form 1933 and designed in the WPA style.  The analysis covered life safety and accessibility code compliance, as well as the integrity of structural, mechanics and electrical systems.
  • City of Citrus Heights City Hall, Citrus Heights, California
The City of Citrus Heights was incorporated in January 1997.  Prior to the incorporation, the population of 80,000 residents was governed by Sacramento County.  The founding of the new city with an instant population of this magnitude is extremely rare. CDA Inc. assisted this newly formed City in establishing all of their initial facilities.  From temporary facilities through permanent construction on their civic structures, CDA Inc. participated through this process.
